Anwen Pennent grew up in the port town of Five Fingers, the daughter of a gunsmith. While she picked up some of the family trade as a young apprentice, she didn’t want to lead the life of a crafter, and so she abruptly joined a mercenary group working far from Five Fingers. This decision cause a serious rift between her and her father, and an even larger argument with her brother Eian, who felt that Anwen had no right or reason to leave the family.
As a fighter, Anwen quickly applied her knowledge of rifles to the military, as a scout and sniper in the trouble areas between kingdoms. Anwen never cared about the politics behind her group’d actions – she never wanted to get involved in that crap. Her concern was the day-to-day life with her unit, though the reticent Anwen didn’t even talk to them much. In fact, she preferred the solitary assignments of scouting and tracking enemy movements. In several cases, her skill at long-range shooting came in very handy.
When Anwen heard rumors of trouble in Five Fingers, though, she took leave of her unit and returned to the town where she grew up, arriving just in time to find her family’s workshop burning and her brother missing. Pissed about this incursion of local politics and crime into her family life, Anwen is determined to find her brother and find out what’s happening. If the only way to do that is to team up with a bizarre collection of bumbling and quite possibly insane adventurers…well, that’s the way it goes, kid. It’s not for forever, after all.
Anwen looks unremarkable. Slightly above middle height, with brown eyes and hair. The most noticeable thing about her appearance is the reminder of her mercenary past: the red patch on the arm of her wool greatcoat, the insignia of the Redline Reavers (a mercenary outfit close by Five Fingers), and the rifle she earned while with that group.
Personality: Laconic, independent, impatient with fools. Religion and politics are both crazy, and it’s best to avoid them. And always, always have a gun ready to fire.
